Party Work.. Attempt and Sustainability

Abbas Al-Anbouri

Party work in Iraq faces major challenges, some of which are cultural-social and deeply rooted in the Iraqi individual’s mindset.
They are represented by the absence of party experience for decades, and thus the absence of party work traditions.
In terms of concepts,
ideas, and establishing a culture of party work in establishing democratic approaches within the party and the seriousness of dealing with achieving party
goals, to be predominant (even if only superficially) over achieving personal or family interests. The party experience after the year created
2003 had a double repercussion in the society’s withdrawal from participating in party work and presenting initiatives to establish new parties, instead of being the beginning of forming party work on national foundations and approaches that develop and grow with the accumulation of experience and the cross-pollination of ideas with other party experiences near or far from Iraq.
