The experience of transition and transformation in Romania after 1989 2024 / 17 / Nov
A seminar was held at the Baghdad Center for Public Policy, presented by the Romanian Ambassador to Baghdad, Mr. Radu Octavian Dobre, on the nature of the transformation that Romania underwent after 1989, as a country in Eastern Europe and subject to the Soviet Union (formerly), to a new system at the political, economic and social levels.

The Romanian ambassador spoke about the challenges Romania faced after the collapse of the Soviet Union, represented by the collapse of Yugoslavia in 1991, and the repercussions of that collapse on Romania's regional situation, in addition to the challenges it faced on the path to joining the European Union and NATO membership.

The session was moderated by Professor Abbas Al-Anbouri, Head of the Center, and was attended by a group of researchers and academics, who enriched it through their interventions and questions about the transformation that Romania has undergone.
