At a constructive discussion roundtable and open dialogue session held by the Baghdad Center for Public Policy, attended by a number of young researchers and diplomats from various missions, a number of political issues were addressed, particularly those related to the previous and upcoming legislative elections.
The discussion concluded with the affirmation of a number of constants, foremost among them the importance of electoral participation in establishing the foundations of political pluralism and social representation, despite the challenges it has faced. It was also emphasized that changing the electoral system over twenty years confirms that it is constantly interacting with social demands and is an important manifestation of democracy in Iraq.
