“Rights and freedoms under the 2005 Constitution, reality and ambition.” Within this framework, Rewaq Baghdad Center for Public Policy held the third dialogue session on the project to evaluate the performance of the 2005 Iraqi constitution, which was attended by a number of representatives of Iraqi minorities and components, where the first topic of discussion was about the nature of the relationship. Between the individual and the state and its responsibility towards the citizen and the nature of the institutional changes that must be made to improve the protection of individual rights in Iraq. The second axis dealt with the rights of minorities in the constitution and the state’s responsibility towards them, and was this responsibility reflected in the constitution? What changes can and should be made to the 2005 Constitution to reflect those special responsibilities in the text? What is the constitutional framework that guarantees the management of diversity in Iraq? In addition to other related axes, it is noteworthy that the project to evaluate the performance of the Iraqi constitution is currently being implemented in partnership between Rewaq BaghdadCenter for Public Policy and the IDEA Foundation for Democracy and Elections.
