Intelligence and Foreign Policy: Lessons from the Pakistani Experience. This was the title of the session held at the Baghdad Center for Public Policy, as part of the Security and Social Studies Seminar program. This research program features academic papers presented by specialists and researchers on security and social issues. The session was presented by researcher Dr. Abbas Abboud, who discussed the intelligence tool model in Pakistani foreign policy.The lessons learned from it, particularly in dealing with violent extremist groups, the origins of intelligence agencies and their underlying doctrine, how they evolved after 1947 to the present stage, and their importance as a tool in a comprehensive national security strategy. Researcher Dr. Abbas Abboud spoke about the importance of the Pakistani intelligence community, describing it as "the shortest path to implementing foreign policy."

 


She has accumulated experience in dealing with American and Western intelligence agencies, as well as in dealing with Pakistani regional and local political issues. The session was attended by a group of researchers and specialists in security sciences, as well as international relations specialists and graduate students. It was moderated by researcher Anwar Al-Momen and held at the Jaafar Abu Al-Tamman Hall, the Baghdad Center for Public Policy.
