About the Book

Iraqi-Chinese relations are characterized by their historical extension after the events of July 14, 1958, which charted the paths of those
ideological (intellectual-political) relations and limited mutual interests. This is because China was focused on its problems and its semi-economic
isolation. After the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1990, Iraqi-Chinese relations took a turn.
It has been strengthened, as relations between the two countries have developed significantly in several areas, including economic,
political and military, after 2003.
There were agreements to cancel 80% of Iraq’s debt owed to China, amounting to eight and a half billion dollars,
after the visit of the then President of the Republic of Iraq in 2007, as Iraq joined the Belt and Road Initiative for the 21st Century,
and relations rose to the strategic level in terms of cooperation in non-traditional fields.
Following the announcement of the strategic partnership statement, the areas of cooperation in Iraqi-Chinese relations multiplied from 2003 to 2020,
as they grew politically, diplomatically, economically, commercially, investment-wise, militarily and culturally in a relative manner,
as it is no secret that Iraqi-Chinese relations declined and fluctuated during the period. After 2020.
