This economic influence is crucial in any negotiations, and Saudi Arabia's efforts enhance the likelihood of serious peace talks, especially with mounting international pressure to end the conflict. Saudi involvement in this role could position it as a future diplomatic power, thereby strengthening its position not only regionally but also on the global stage.

The desire of U.S. President Donald Trump to end the conflict has been apparent since he announced his candidacy for a second term in office. Upon taking office, however, the dynamics shifted, and the war in Ukraine became a focal point of changing alliances among the countries involved in the ongoing conflict. The leadership in Ukraine did not initially anticipate that the U.S. administration would move toward compromise, blaming Ukraine for the outbreak of the war and holding it accountable for the financial losses incurred.
