"Operation Storm of Al-Aqsa" is the name given by Palestinians to the attack launched by Hamas against the Israeli entity on October 7, 2023, which triggered significant repercussions on security stability in the Arab region in general, and Iraq in particular.
Since the outbreak of Operation Storm of Al-Aqsa, which was marked by escalating conflict between Israeli occupation forces and Palestinian resistance, its repercussions have continued to profoundly impact regional and international conditions. Iraq was not immune to these effects, as crises in the region intertwined to pose a real threat to security and stability in the country. The escalation of political and military tensions in the Middle East has increased challenges for Iraqi authorities in maintaining internal order and security.
Iraqi security is linked to several regional factors, including shifts in conflicts erupting in its immediate surroundings. Therefore, the recent Palestinian-Israeli conflict has formed a dangerous turning point in the region, prompting varied reactions from Iraqi political forces, between supporters and opponents. This has created an environment filled with security transformations that require careful study. This study aims to understand the repercussions of this conflict on Iraq's internal stability, whether through direct impacts on the security system or through interactions of political forces and armed groups that may find opportunities to expand their influence in this context. The topic will be addressed according to the following axes: first, Iraq's stance on Operation Storm of Al-Aqsa; second, its impact on Iraq's security stability, as follows:
