Iraqi foreign policy in light of regional transformations after October 7

The Middle East has always represented a complex mosaic of challenges and opportunities. Over the past 124 years, the region has experienced periods of relative stability interspersed with deep crises that have shaken its security and stability. This dynamic trajectory has been shaped by decisive historical intersections, pivotal geopolitical shifts, and rich cultural interactions, making the region a constant focus of global attention. The region has been surrounded by numerous crises that have had a significant impact on the current reality in terms of conflicts and balances. What the region has reached today, from major events starting with the Arab Spring in 2011 to the events of October 7, 2023, and the subsequent developments now described as having produced a "new Middle East," is not merely the result of current circumstances, but rather the outcome of a long history of conflicts and international interventions in the region's issues in general, and the Palestinian cause in particular.
