In a distinguished panel discussion attended by a group of researchers and academics, the president and members of Rewaq Baghdad Center discussed the results of the successful visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt recently, which came at the invitation of the Journal of International Politics and the Journal of Democracy, which are published by the Al-Ahram Center for Studies.
The head of the center, Mr. Abbas Al-Anbouri, indicated that the visit aimed to highlight the important positive role of the center as one of the important links that mediates the relationship between the academic, cognitive and political elites on the one hand and the citizen on the other hand, relying on professional institutional frameworks.
While Mr. Adnan Abdel Hussein, Executive Director of the Center and the electoral expert, discussed the details and results of the elections that recently took place and explained their outcomes during the workshops and seminars held in cooperation with Al-Ahram Center and the Journal of International Politics and Democracy.
While Professor Ali Hassoun addressed the topic of Riwaq’s questionnaires and polls, which relate to the preludes to the elections and voters’ expectations and preferences, he pointed out the great amount of interest shown by the Egyptian elites, academics and researchers, with what was presented in extensive and realistic discussions that reflected the common desire to sustain the positive relationship between Riwaq and the Center. Al-Ahram to reach a real common understanding of the reality of the Egyptian and Iraqi political scene.
Finally, Ms. Aya Al-Hakim, Director of Programs at the Center, discussed all the other positive results of the visit, especially on the media and social levels and the nature of the great interaction with it by all Egyptian activities and personalities.
