Trump’s Doctrine: How Does President Trump View the World—And How Will He Govern It?
Why are Arab leaders enthusiastic about him?
Why does Trump appear to scorn America’s traditional allies?
And what could he mean for the Middle East?

These pressing questions set the stage for a highly attended and engaging seminar held at the Rawaq Baghdad Center for Public Policy, which organized a dialogue session examining the global and Middle Eastern implications of Donald Trump’s election as President of the United States.

The session featured renowned Egyptian journalist Sayed Gaber Jbeil, who led a candid and objective discussion on this critical and sensitive period that coincides with Trump’s rise to power. He described Trump as an unpredictable figure, shaped by a business-minded approach that previously defined his presidency.

Jbeil delivered an in-depth presentation on the historical evolution of U.S. presidents and their handling of major events—leading up to Trump and his potential strategies over the next four years. He shared his interpretations and forecasts regarding the future of the world, particularly the Middle East and the Arab region.

The event sparked a highly interactive discussion, lasting over two hours, with numerous questions and interventions—most of which centered on Iraq, and the political and security dynamics in Gaza, Lebanon, Syria, and the broader region.

The seminar was moderated by Rawaq Baghdad Center member and media professional Ahmed Al-Hilu.
