A symposium on Iraqi-Russian relations was held at the Baghdad Center for Public Policy. International relations researcher Hassan Fadel presented a review of the state of relations between the two countries over the past eighty years since the establishment of the first full diplomatic exchange between Iraq and Russia.

The researcher addressed the determinants and factors influencing the relationship between the two countries, attributing them primarily to the American factor and determinant. He presented models examining this factor from the 1950s to the present.
Russia is considered one of the most advanced countries in this regard, in addition to the potential for development in industry and trade, leading to the possibility of Iraq joining the BRICS group. The symposium was attended by a group of researchers, who enriched it through their contributions and opinions. The symposium was held at the Jaafar Abu Al-Tamman Hall, the Baghdad Center for Public Policy.
