The Iraqi character between the atmosphere of cafes, palaces and minarets 2024 / 30 / Dec

In collaboration with the Iraqi Bayt Al-Hikma Foundation, the Rawaq Baghdad Center for Public Policy held a dialogue seminar titled:
“The Iraqi Personality: Between Cafés, Palaces, and Minarets”
—also the title of a recently published book by the same name.

The session was presented by His Excellency Ambassador Lukman Abdul Rahim Al-Faili, who opened the discussion by posing the questions: Who are we? What do we want? And where are we headed? In response, he emphasized the need to rehabilitate the Iraqi individual's personality in terms of religion, culture, and the state. He highlighted the necessity of reform, taking the character of the Supreme Religious Authority as the only viable model for such renewal.

Ambassador Al-Faili concluded the session by responding to audience questions and noted that a second edition of the book is forthcoming, which will include additional topics such as women and education.

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Alaa Hameed Idrees.
