Rewaq Baghdad Center participated in the first international conference to combat extremism, which was held by the Salam Center for Studies of Extremism, affiliated with the Egyptian Fatwa House 2022 / 09 / Jun

 Over the course of three days, Rewaq Baghdad Center for Public Policy participated in the first international conference to combat extremism, which was held by the Salam Center for Studies of Extremism, affiliated with the Egyptian Fatwa House. The conference was launched on the seventh of this month, with the participation of dozens of countries, research centers, religious, political and academic figures, and representatives of the Security Council and the United Nations. The European Commission and the League of Arab States emphasized confronting extremism in all its forms and colours, including religious extremism, by adopting a renewed discourse that keeps pace with and confronts the challenges of the new phase, as well as involving all research and scientific institutions, including political thinking industry centers, in developing visions and strategies that can expose extremist discourse and reveal its tools, resources and incubators. Through the research paper presented by the Baghdad Riwaq Center to the conference and delivered by the center’s member, Mr. Ahmed Al-Hilu, in the second of his sessions, which was devoted to talking about ways to confront extremism in the digital age, he talked about the experience of the media war that Iraq waged against the terrorist organization ISIS and how it was united in that. The period between the pens of bloggers, their pages, and various national media outlets, along with the official government effort during the battles of victory and liberation, as this experience yielded a valuable national social and media awareness that could serve as an example to be followed and a subject of interest and reading by scholars and those interested in the field of confronting the electronic extremism of terrorist organizations and groups, and On the sidelines of the conference, contact was made with many Arab and foreign personalities, events, and research centers in the hope of activating cooperation and partnership agreements with them soon. The participation of the Baghdad Riwaq Center in the conference also received great media attention from most of the Egyptian, Arab, and foreign media.
